Check SIM Owner Name by Number: What You Can Legally Do

Getting calls from an unknown number, or want to confirm who a SIM is registered to? Here is the honest answer about checking a SIM owner name by mobile number in Pakistan — and the legal options that actually work.

Can you see a stranger's name from their number?

No. Owner names and CNICs are private records held by operators under PTA rules. Any website claiming to show them is either using leaked data or showing fake results. See why SIM database sites are illegal.

Check the owner name of your own SIM

  1. 1Open messages on the SIM you want to check.
  2. 2Type MNP and send it to 667.
  3. 3You will receive the registered owner name and network of that SIM.

667 does not count the SIMs on your CNIC. For that, see how to check SIMs on your CNIC.

Find which network a number belongs to

Send N followed by the mobile number to 76367. You will get the current network, even for ported numbers.

Dealing with an unknown or harassing caller

  • Block the number on your phone and keep screenshots or call logs as evidence.
  • Report it to your operator's helpline.
  • File a complaint at complaint.pta.gov.pk.
  • For threats, fraud or blackmail, contact the NCCIA helpline 1799 — they can legally trace the owner.
