What is the difference between 667 and 668?

668 is PTA's SIM Information System short code. You SMS your 13-digit CNIC (no dashes) to 668 and get back how many SIMs are registered on that CNIC, per network. 667 is the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) short code. Sending MNP followed by a mobile number to 667 tells you which network that number currently belongs to — it never shows the owner's name.

How do I check how many SIMs are registered on my CNIC?

Open your SMS app, type your 13-digit CNIC number without dashes and send it to 668. You will receive a reply listing the number of SIMs registered on your CNIC for each operator. You can also enter your CNIC at the PTA portal cnic.sims.pk.

No. Subscriber details such as name, CNIC and address are protected under PECA 2016 and PTA rules. Only the operator and authorised law-enforcement agencies can access them. If someone is harassing you, file a complaint with the operator, PTA or the NCCIA.

Websites that claim to show a stranger's name, CNIC or address from a phone number are using leaked or fake data. Using or sharing such data can be an offence under PECA 2016. Educational sites that explain official PTA methods, like this one, are legal.

Visit any franchise or customer service centre of the network the SIM belongs to. Bring your original CNIC, complete biometric verification and ask them to disown the SIM. Check again via 668 after 48 hours to confirm it has been removed.

No. Truecaller shows names saved by other users in their contacts, not official registration data. It can be wrong, outdated or deliberately misleading.
